We’re all in it, and the stakes are high !

The content of a book holds the power of education and it is with this power that we can shape our future and change lives.

Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man’s sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true.

We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.

Mike in Munich

Hi! I’m Mike. Mike Lasher. I like to use the name Mike in Munich. I’m a 57 year-old American ex-pat who has been living in Munich since 1993. After 30 years as owner and operator of the well-known Mike’s Bike Tours, I began thinking a lot about my “Same Boat” concept while walking my dogs back in 2018-2019.

The Same Boat

A book not to divide, rather unite

What ?

The Same Boat is a project, a message, a book and an online education and discussion platform which this website will eventually become. Read more…

Premise

Almost all Americans agree on far more than the apparent state of divisiveness would suggest. When it comes to our core values, 90% of us agree on 90% of what’s most important. These core values must be brought to the forefront of the debate in order to destroy the illusion of division and keep the power in the hands of The People.

How ?

Only through education and open-minded discussion can we re-discover the overwhelming degree of common ground that almost all Americans share and re-establish our foundational principles and emphasis on virtues, common goals, common values, common decency and common sense.

Why ?

Because America is in decline in many ways and the tide needs to turn before the consequences of this downward trajectory become irreversible. We are close to the brink and it’s important that Americans come together NOW more than ever before, before it’s too late.

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts.
