It’s hard to believe that my last blog entry was SEVEN MONTHS ago! Where does the time go?! Well, after working as a chauffeur-guide between 40-80 hours a week last summer, which continued until the Munich Oktoberfest ended in early Oktober, I then got started on renovating the house I need to liquidate thanks to what the COVID crises did to my business and finances. And BAM! The next thing I knew, it was Christmas and the year was over, without any further progress on this book having been accomplished whatsoever. What’s the answer to this conundrum? Am I going to make excuses or Just Do It?! The solution is clear and comprises only one word; discipline.
Since discipline requires discipline, if you don’t have it, then something’s gotta give. Either you get it, or your ambitions and plans probably aren’t going to work out, especially if they’re to write a book while having a hectic situation and business to manage without the manager and staff required to delegate almost everything to.
So I started 2023 off with a lot more discipline on a number of fronts, trying to „win the morning“ by getting up almost every day before 06:00, reading, mediation and doing fitness training as often as I could get my generally undisciplined ass to do so, but alas! I still haven’t begun to do any further writing! However, that’s about to change as I am now prepared to shift gears and up my discipline game to the next level!
The plan is to write 500 words per day, 5 days a week, which adds up to 10,000 words a month, putting me at first draft complete after six months, which, as we all know, are going to go by FAST!
Inspired and motivated by Ryan Holiday’s Discipline is Destiny and the self-help classic Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy, I’m a new man on a mission! Get ready for progress! It’s coming.
We shall see how this goes. I’ve got myself under the gun here and it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it!
